Getting to CONNECT from MacOS

  1. From MacOS, you can launch a terminal window and enter the command "telnet connect.timeheart.net". Alternately, you can click here in your browser to have it launch the terminal window for you. If you are using Safari, you'll see the following dialog box appear:

If you are using Firefox, you'll first be asked which application to use and then see this dialog. Select "Terminal" in the Firefox dialog and click "OK". If you don't want to have to see this dialog every time, check the box labeled "Remember my choice for telnet links." It will look something like:

  2. When you're done entering this information, click "Open". If you entered everything correctly, you should see a window with the CONNECT login banner. It looks like the following:

  3. If you don't yet have a network server ID, hit <Return> to log in as a guest and <Return> again to run CONNECT. Enter the name you'd like to use and you can then ask Maker there for an account. You can also type "help" when logging in or use the "/HELP" command once you are in CONNECT to get more information about how to use the system.
